About the place

Casa Bunicii began as a neighbourhood restaurant on Averescu Street and now has three locations. The old-town one opened on 8 July 2024, with a neo-Romanian menu designed for sharing and about 80 wines.

The group works with local producers and makes its own sauces, pickles and syrups. The room seats 80 and the terrace another 70. House dishes include plum dumplings (gomboți) and Cluj-style layered cabbage.

Good to know

  • Order several dishes and share them; that is how the menu works.
  • Book online at weekends; the terrace fills up fast.
  • For a cheaper meal and a kids' play area, try Casa Bunicii Garden at Mareșal Averescu 1b.
