It is the most pleasant spot near the centre for a shady break, especially in May and June.
About the place
The park is dedicated to roses and was last redesigned in 2012, when thousands of roses, trees and shrubs were planted and the pergolas and benches were rebuilt. In 2025 it was proposed for listing as a historic monument of national importance.
It is a few minutes from the old town, across the Bega, and fits well into a riverside walk. In summer it hosts concerts and shows on the park stage.
Good to know
- Come in late May or June, when the roses bloom.
- Continue along the Bega towards Cathedral Park.
